  1. Your character has a problem. The worst kind. And this is the day it’s all coming to a head. In five minutes, actually. What do they want to tell us?


5 Minutes to Armageddon?


Scene: The Oval Office, The White House, Washington, DC: A cloudless bright August Day, 4pm in the afternoon, Sunday 16/29th August 2025


President Trump: This is an emergency broadcast. We´ve just received news that Russia has launched a nuclear attack. There are two possibilities here. First, they’ve actually done so. And, Second, that, as in the past there has been a computer malfunction. I need your help, wherever you are, to help find out the truth on this. 


The nearest point we have in the USA to Russia is Little Diomede Island. It is only 0.4 miles from the International Date Line, which marks the sea border there between America and Russia, about 2.4 miles from the Russian island of Big Diomede, and 16 miles west of mainland Alaska, in the middle of the Bering Strait.


And, of course, I naturally get reports directly from there of anything coming over, from its town, Diomede. It’s named after St. Diomede of Tarsus, because Danish-Russian navigator Vitus Bering (after whom the Bering Strait is named) sighted the Diomede Islands on August 16 in the Traditional Orthodox Calendar, also known as Old Style or (O.S.), still also the civil calendar date in the male monastic Republic of Mount Athos, in Greece, equivalent, at the time, to August 27 in the Gregorian Calendar on which the global civil calendar of the rest of the World is now based, also known as the “New Style”, or “N.S” , 1728, the day on which the Russian Orthodox Church, and all Churches on the Patristic, also known as the Julian or Old Calendar, celebrate the memory of St.  Diomedes of Tarsus.


Tarsus, you will recall, was St. Paul’s home town. So, we can pray to him too, that it’s only a technical fault and to stop it if it’s not.


This island is also known as Yesterday Island, or, in the language of its inhabitants, the Inupiaq, as Iŋaliq, which means means "the other one" or "the one over there”, and was also formerly known as Krusenstern Island,[a][3] Russian: остров Крузенштерна, romanized: ostrov Kruzenshterna) is an inhabited island of Alaska. It is the smaller of the two Diomede Islands located in the Bering Strait between the Alaskan mainland and Siberia. The island has one town, also called Diomede. The two islands are respectively nicknamed "Yesterday Island" (Little Diomede Island) and "Tomorrow Island” (Big Diomede Island) because the International Date Line runs between them, making the date on Little Diomede Island always one day earlier than the date on Big Diomede Island.


Saint Diomedes of Tarsus (Diomede) (Greek: Διομήδης ό Ταρσεύς, d. between 298 and 311 AD) is venerated as a GreekChristian saint and martyr, one of the Holy Unmercenaries.[1]



The Holy Unmercenaries are doctors and other masters of the healing arts who didn’t charge anyone who couldn’t afford to pay for their services. Diomedes was born in Tarsus. He was a physician by profession and a zealous Christian evangelist. He traveled a good deal preaching the faith. When he arrived at Nicaea, Diocletian ordered him arrested. On route to Nicomedia, Diomedes paused to pray and then died. The soldiers took his head as proof he had been arrested.[2] One source states, "It is said that when his head was taken to the emperor, that all were blinded, and only after his body has been returned and they had prayed, was their sight restored."[3] His feast day is 16 August (O.S.), which is now equivalent to 29 August in the civil calendar outside of Mount Athos . There is afresco of him at the monastery of Hilandar on Mount Athos,Greece.


Anyway, as I having been speaking I have now just received a message that it’s a false alarm. Enjoy the rest of the Labour Day long weekend and holiday!
